What the finger seeks
Person seated, the arm brought across the chest to grasp the far armrest, which puts the muscle under slight tension; the fingerpads then sweep the fossa and often meet several tender spots in a row.
The cords are sought below the spine of the scapula; the work warns they are less readily recognised here than one would expect for so superficial a muscle.
