What the finger seeks
The retained material carries no search technique specific to this spot beyond the locus itself — the pincer-grip description of the anterior border draws on pages (289-291) and a work (white-cummings-filshie) outside the scope covered by today's matrix.
The band is sought in the most vertical fibres, those running down from the nuchal line to the clavicle; further out, the fibres flatten and run almost horizontally.

TrPs of the upper trapezius fibres characteristically refer pain and tenderness along the posterolateral aspect of the neck, behind the ear and toward the temple.
